Valentino Foundation Debuts First Rome Exhibition Celebrating Red Through Art and Fashion

Fondazione Valentino Garavani and Giancarlo Giammetti launched their first exhibition, Horizons/Red, at PM23 in Rome. The show explores the cultural and emotional significance of Valentino’s signature red hue through a blend of archival pieces, art installations, and contemporary design. Curated by artist and designer Filippo Bisagni, the exhibition reinterprets “Valentino Red” not just as a brand hallmark but as a timeless and multifaceted symbol of passion, power, and glamour.

The immersive experience spans fashion, photography, painting, and sculpture, including archival couture, video projections, and site-specific works that reference Valentino’s deep influence on culture and aesthetics. Works by artists such as Joseph Kosuth and Douglas Gordon are featured alongside historical runway pieces and creative reinterpretations of the brand's most iconic designs.

This exhibition marks a major cultural moment for the Valentino Foundation, affirming its role in preserving and extending the legacy of the house beyond fashion. Hosted at PM23, a contemporary art and culture venue in Rome’s Prati district, Horizons/Red situates Valentino’s legacy within a larger creative dialogue between heritage and innovation. The show positions red as both a color and a concept—an enduring language of emotion, style, and identity.
